 Roses

I have posted in a while, but I wanted to add that today, Leah made some headway in the eating challenge.  We’ve been working with her for a couple weeks trying to get her to eat a few soft vegetables, like green beans, corn and carrots, and rice.  One night she even ate all of her McDonald’s chicken nuggets instead of just nibbling around the edge.  What an accomplishment.  I was very proud of her tonight.  We ordered Chinese food, and she ate sweet and sour chicken, some carrots, and fried rice.  Previously, it’s been a begging and pleading session, mixed with you are going to eat this, and her crying and gulping and choking all for dramatic effect.  But tonight was a major improvement.  The TV, electronic games, and portable movie player had been taken away.  So tonight her TV privileges have been returned.

On another odiforous front, we are also dealing with constipation.  She has only been having a movement about every 10 days, and they have been turning into horrific ordeals.  About 10 days ago, I decided to start giving her the Miralax in her pediasure at night.  It finally started kicking in on  Thursday.  She goes through about 10-12 pullups a day, at least, and numerous wipes.  It’s been a big “mess” to say the least.  But I’m hoping it’s going to work to help clean her out and keep her cleaned out.  I’ve been at my wits end about what to do, and I’m hoping that this is finally going to work.

Weather wise…  there is a prediction of snow tomorrow.. for Middle Georgia.  I can’t believe it.  Leah has been praying for snow since Thanksgiving.  I hope we get enough to stick long enough where she can go out and pretend she is making a snow angel.  Don’t know if I want enough to make a snowman, because that could mean power outages, but it would be fun… for a day.

We were watching TV when she came running in the living room saying “Hey guys!  My tooth fell out”.  Sure enough, it did.  She had been telling me for weeks that the tooth was loose, but I just couldn’t feel it.  She went to the dentist a few weeks ago and they told me it was definitely loose.  Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the tooth to leave for the tooth fairy.  We searched all over her room, trying to get her to tell us what exactly she was doing when she realized the tooth was gone.  We pulled books off the shelves, and picked up and shook toys and blankets.  No luck.  I’ll probably find it in a few weeks by stepping on it in my bare feet.

Since we couldn’t find the tooth, we helped her write a note to the tooth fairy.

Busy hands on school break

Such concentration

This was very brave of me.  The last time I let her play with playdoh, all she wanted to do was   Imix all the colors together.  Another one of those times that my friend says I have “too many rules”.  I honestly can’t stand the smell of playdoh on my hands, and I definitely don’t like cleaning up the mess afterwards.  But I put my game face on, spread out a sheet and told her to have at it.

Did you go to your pre-k prom?  I didn’t attend pre-k or kindergarten.  I never knew that “pre-k” prom even existed.

Homework assignment for Valentine’s week….   decorate a shoebox to collect Valentine cards.

I covered the shoebox in thick pink wrapping paper, then added the ribbon and beads.  The letters and hearts I just laid on it and let Leah finish it.
